In solidarity with the 7th October March for Palestine, this week’s Bioskop session is dedicated to Jenin, Jenin (2002) – Mohammad Bakri’s documentary that landed him a defamation suit from IDF and eventually a permanent ban of the movie in Israel.
The film is a collection of testimonies from residents of Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, following the Israeli army’s Defensive Wall operation in April of 2002. The military invasion, which lasted almost two weeks, resulted in the killing of at least 52 Palestinians, including women, children and elderly in the rampage that unfolded in a refugee camp, as well as some 23 Israeli soldiers.
So join us in bearing witness and commemorating the voices of Palestinian resistance, in all of its human everyday dimensions. Hope to see many of our beloved Bioskopians at the march on Tuesday!
